Our Commitments

Picture the happiness, empathetic support, and significant connections that arise from recreational therapy and communal social activities.

Respite & Caregiver Support

We recognize the immense dedication of family caregivers and the challenges they face. Caregiver burnout is a growing concern, especially as more seniors are living longer with complex health needs. Our goal is to provide caregivers with peace of mind and vital respite.

  • Over 1 million unpaid caregivers in British Columbia provide care every day to family, friends, and neighbours. (Seniors Advocate, 2017)

  • More than 1 in 3 unpaid caregivers of people who receive home care report being distressed. Distress means emotional, mental, and/or physical impacts due to caregiving responsibilities. (Canadian Institute for Health Information, 2020)

  • BC’s Home Support Services Update (2023) shows that demand for home support is growing faster than services are being delivered, especially for tasks like bathing, meal preparation, and daily living assistance. Family members often take on large parts of those duties. (Seniors Advocate, 2023)
